Basketball Recap: UME Preparatory Academy Piles Up the Points Against Coram Deo Academy

UME Preparatory Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 75-48 victory over the Coram Deo Academy Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the EAGLES have posted since November 15th.

Leading UME Preparatory Academy to victory were Noah Marvine and TJ Maye. Marvine posted 12 points along with seven boards and five assists, while Maye had 17 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Marvine continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Lopez, who put up ten points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: UME Preparatory Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

UME Preparatory Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Coram Deo Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the UME Preparatory Academy EAGLES challenge the ILTexas Arlington Eagles on Tuesday. UME Preparatory Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season. As for Coram Deo Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pantego Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 17, 2025.
