Edinburg is 7-2 against Mission since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Edinburg Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Mission Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Edinburg is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Edinburg lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They suffered a tough 59-36 loss at the hands of Edinburg North. While losing is never fun, Edinburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 561st, while Edinburg North is ranked 266th).
Despite their loss, Edinburg saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Phoenix McBride, who scored five points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all.
Mission suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 58-37 loss at the hands of La Joya. Mission has not had much luck with La Joya recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Edinburg's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9. As for Mission, their loss dropped their record down to 10-19.
Edinburg was able to grind out a solid win over Mission when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 67-60. Does Edinburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mission turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
