The Alcester-Hudson Cubs were the 56-54 winner over the Centerville Tornadoes when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Alcester-Hudson fell 62-50 to the Tornadoes on Tuesday.
Alcester-Hudson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Van egdom, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Van egdom has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of William Hallaway, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
Alcester-Hudson's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Centerville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Alcester-Hudson will head out on the road to take on the Flyers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Freeman is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season. As for Centerville, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Bridgewater/Emery is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
