Flag Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Jaiden Alexander and Aleny Aceves Leads Mesa Verde over Futures

While Mesa Verde put up some points on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Futures. The Mavericks put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 26-0 win. Considering the Mavericks have won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Joslyn Hoffman had an outrageously good game as she picked up 32 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 32 yards. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Jaimez, who threw for 104 yards and a pair of TDs.

Mesa Verde didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaiden Alexander and Aleny Aceves. Paisley Shepherd was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making five total tackles.

Mesa Verde is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Futures, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Coincidentally, Mesa Verde and Futures will both be playing Elite the next time they take the field. The Mavericks will head out to face the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Knights will host them at 4:30 p.m. on the 13th.
