The Weimar Wildcats proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 36) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-34 win over Ganado. The win was nothing new for Weimar as they're now sitting on three straight.
Ganado's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabel Tristan, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Tristan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aileen Zavala, who scored nine points along with three steals.
The win got Weimar back to even at 14-14. As for Ganado, their loss dropped their record down to 13-18.
Weimar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ganado will head out on the road to face off against the Bobcats/Lady Cats at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bloomington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
