Webster Groves had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They never let the Hazelwood West Wildcats get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Statesmen, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Webster Groves' win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Hazelwood West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

Webster Groves and Hazelwood West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Statesmen will challenge Parkway South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (209 vs. 32). Meanwhile, Hazelwood West (ranked 216th) will meet Kirkwood (ranked 20th) at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
