The Snowflake Lobos are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against the Coolidge Bears at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Snowflake will be strutting in after a victory while Coolidge will be coming in after a defeat.
Snowflake is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Tuba City 17-0 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Lobos in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Tate Matthews and Kyler Matthews made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Matthews pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kyler struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those zero hits allowed gave Tate a new career-low. At bat, Matthews scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Kyler scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Kyler is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Snowflake got a massive performance out of Skip Bawden, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Bawden also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Gavin Rausch was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Snowflake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Coolidge was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (12-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The game marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Coolidge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Patrick Perez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Coolidge moved to 3-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.3 runs. As for Snowflake, their record now sits at 3-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Snowflake has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Coolidge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Snowflake took their victory against Coolidge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Snowflake since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
