It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Dighton Hornets can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Victoria on Friday, falling 66-20. Dighton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-8.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryland Price, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Price was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards. Jack Jenkinson was in the mix too, providing Dighton with two touchdowns.
Dighton's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Victoria, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Dighton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Victoria will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against South Central at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. South Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
