The Maple Heights Mustangs entered their tilt with the Cleveland Central Catholic Ironmen with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Maple Heights snuck past the Ironmen with a 48-42 victory on Monday. For Maple Heights, this counts as revenge for the 44-18 defeat the Ironmen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2021.
Maple Heights was led to victory by Treasure Cistrunk and Brooklyn Dillard. Cistrunk scored 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Dillard scored 25 points along with three steals and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dillard has scored all season.
Several Ironmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Imani Dotson, who scored ten points. Kare?en Johnson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Maple Heights' victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Cleveland Central Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maple Heights will square off against the Mayhem at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fuchs Mizrachi will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Cleveland Central Catholic is on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Fighting Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. John F. Kennedy's defense has only allowed 28.3 points per game this season, so the Ironmen's offense will have their work cut out for them.
