The Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights will challenge the Eldorado Firehawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Cheyenne: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Knights blew the Desert Shields out of the water with a 52-6 final score. With the Knights ahead 30-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

It was another big night for James Monaghan IV, who threw for 378 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 306.5 passing yards per game.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mater Academy East Las Vegas' defense and their four sacks. Victor Mayea was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
Meanwhile, Eldorado never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-0 victory over Rancho. The Firehawks pushed the score to 31-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams had no chance of recovering from.
Eldorado found their leader in sophomore Andru Davis, who rushed for 50 yards and a pair of TDs. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Izyiah Rivera-Kyle, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Eldorado was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 57.4 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five contests they've averaged 167.
Eldorado didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Jayleen Brown-Conway picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas' win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-3. As for Eldorado, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-3.
