The Halstead Dragons lost against the Hesston Swathers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Halstead was outmatched by Hesston on the road and fell 64-30. Halstead has not had much luck with Hesston recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Leading Hesston to victory were Reed Friesen and Adrian Hernandez. Friesen dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds, while Hernandez scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Fry, who scored eight points along with five assists.
Halstead's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Hesston, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
Halstead will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Council Grove at 7:30 p.m. As for Hesston, they will head out on the road to square off against Larned at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
