Crosby has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Oxford Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Crosby didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Wilby, but they still walked away with a 28-24 victory. The win was just what Crosby needed coming off of a 28-0 defeat in their prior matchup.
Crosby's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Steve Dunbar, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and Will Rogers, who rushed for 161 yards on only 15 carries.
Meanwhile, Oxford put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 40-0 win over St. Paul Catholic at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Oxford just coasted through the last quarter.
Oxford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Robert Mineo, who picked up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Matthew Mcguire was another key contributor, throwing for 63 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes.
Crosby's win bumped their record up to 3-3. As for Oxford, their victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-0.
Crosby didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Oxford when the teams last played back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 18-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crosby since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
