With a playoff game on the line, the Abbeville Yellowjackets rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 53-46 victory over the Rebels. Winning may never get old, but Abbeville sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Defeat or not, Zion Chapel got some senior leadership from Jacob Chestnut and Slade Grantham. Chestnut scored 17 points along with two steals, while Grantham. scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Abbeville's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Zion Chapel, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 21-10 record this season.
Abbeville will be playing at home against Clarke County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Zion Chapel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
