The Crystal City Javelinas had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Pleasanton by a score of 68-59 on Saturday. The win was just what Crystal City needed coming off of a 96-43 defeat in their prior game.
Crystal City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eli Mata out in front who scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Rousseau, who scored 15 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists.
Crystal City's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Pleasanton, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Crystal City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Winn at 6:30 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Winn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday. As for Pleasanton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jourdanton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jourdanton and Pleasanton are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
