The Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 50-41 win over Bradford Academy. For Asheboro Hybrid Academy, this counts as revenge for the 59-31 defeat the Archers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.
It was another big night for Levi Gaskins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games. Justin Kearns was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Bradford Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elisha McDorman, who scored 23 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McDorman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Crotts, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks.
The victory got Asheboro Hybrid Academy back to even at 8-8. As for Bradford Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Asheboro Hybrid Academy will be playing at home against the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Rockwell Christian School is ranked 583rd, while the Warriors are ranked 605th). As for Bradford Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Asheboro Hybrid Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
