The Berry Cardinal suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 79-35 defeat at the hands of Myers Park. Berry has struggled against Myers Park recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Several Cardinal players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Yohannes Williams, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zymiere Chester, who scored seven points.
Sadiq White Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Myers Park, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White Jr. has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bishop Boswell, who scored 14 points.
Berry's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Myers Park, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berry will take on Palisades at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Palisades knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Berry likes a good challenge. As for Myers Park, they will head out on the road to square off against A.C. Reynolds at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. A.C. Reynolds will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Myers Park is ranked second).
