Hudson Stokes made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 1-for-3. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.6 stolen bases per game.
Stokes wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eli Lovell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Webster County). Everything went their way against Fort Campbell on Friday as Webster County made off with a 14-2 win. With that victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Like Crittenden County, Webster County also got a great game from a two-way player: Aiden Alstadt. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Alstadt was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Jack Edens and Jameson Newton did most of the damage at the plate: Edens went 2-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Newton went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Edens is becoming a predictor of Webster County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Harrison Warren, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Webster County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Crittenden County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .524. It's a different story for Webster County, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Crittenden County's hitters?
