Lake Fenton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Clio Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lake Fenton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
Lake Fenton can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They claimed a resounding 70-30 victory over Corunna at home. Given Lake Fenton's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 546th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Fenton relied on the efforts of Savannah "sj" fellenbaum, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, and Emerson Baker, who scored 23 points along with seven assists and five steals. "sj" fellenbaum is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Anna Prevost, who scored nine points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Clio escaped with a win on Friday against the Blackhawks by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45. The victory was just what Clio needed coming off of a 57-25 loss in their prior matchup.
Ellie Neuhaus continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two blocks for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Persia Davis, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Lake Fenton pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.3 points. As for Clio, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Lake Fenton hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 58.8 points per game. It's a different story for Clio, though, as they've been averaging only 37.8 points per game. The only thing between Lake Fenton and another offensive beatdown is the Mustangs. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Lake Fenton took their win against the Mustangs in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 56-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Fenton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
