It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Eaglecrest Raptors ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Cherry Creek with a 55-51 victory. The victory was nothing new for Eaglecrest as they're now sitting on three straight.
Eaglecrest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sir Devin Roberts, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ladavian King, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Several Bruins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonathan Lyons, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Hammond, who scored 12 points.
Eaglecrest has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Cherry Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eaglecrest will take on Arapahoe at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Arapahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. As for Cherry Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grandview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Cherry Creek is ranked 30th).
