The Dover Pirates entered their tilt with the Baptist Prep Eagles with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Dover snuck past the Eagles with a 50-45 victory on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Dover, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Dover to victory were Kenzie Mccrotty and Logan Young. Mccrotty scored 20 points along with eight rebounds, while Young dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Young hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Madison Spradlin, who scored four points.
Dover pushed their record up to 19-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Baptist Prep, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4.
Dover will take on the Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Mayflower knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully the Pirates likes a good challenge. As for Baptist Prep, they will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Arkansas Christian has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27.
