The Frankenmuth Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 62-39 margin over Carrollton. Given Frankenmuth's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Carrollton is ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Frankenmuth to victory were Thomas Conzelmann and Carson Knoll. Conzelmann dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Knoll scored 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Conzelmann pulled down eight or more rebounds. Aiden Labissoniere was another key contributor, scoring five points.
The win makes it two in a row for Frankenmuth and bumps their season record up to 3-2. As for Carrollton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Frankenmuth will be home for the holidays to greet Goodrich at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carrollton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bullock Creek at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
