Dayton scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Fernley, 34-28. At the time, the Vaqueros were ranked 22nd in the state, while the Dust Devils were 44th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Fernley, who took down 22nd ranked Fernley, 34-28. Austin Fletcher ran for 140 yards in the win.
John Cefalu threw for 321 yards and four touchdowns. He went 28-38 with two interceptions.
Tyler Griffin was the best wideout in IA Northern this week as Truckee bested South Tahoe. Griffin tallied five receptions for 160 yards. Tyler Curtis helped Truckee's passing attack out by catching one ball for 34 yards.
Skylar Williams was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 151 yards as the Vaqueros topped the Vikings. Paul Bustamante also contributed to the rushing game with 45 yards on the ground.
South Tahoe's Cefalu and Kyante Wilson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cefalu has thrown for 3235 yards this season, while Wilson, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 68 catches for 1076 yards. Churchill County's Tyson Ernst leads the league in rushing yards with 948.
The marquee game in IA Northern this week will be the clash between Lowry and the Greenwave. The Buckaroos enters the game ranked 13th in the state, while Churchill County ranks 15th.
Brooke Hill's team's Ernst is a mere 52 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
The Buckaroos extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Greenwave, 21-7. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
