East Lake and Dunedin are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but likely not for long. The Eagles will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. East Lake is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
East Lake had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt St. Petersburg Catholic on Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Barons with a sharp 11-2 win. Considering the Eagles have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

East Lake got a great performance from Dane Wright as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Wright has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Eli Millian was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Palmer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Dunedin and Largo, and Dunedin kept the tradition alive. The Falcons walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Packers on Tuesday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Packers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Armando Monday was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Monday was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
In other pitching news, Cian Roche looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.
Monday wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Fallon, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Aiden Sherifi also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
East Lake's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Dunedin, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. East Lake has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Dunedin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
East Lake was able to grind out a solid victory over Dunedin when the teams last played back in February, winning 4-0. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
