The Burncoat Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the Keefe Tech Broncos at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Burncoat and Prouty meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Patriots came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 6-2.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Keefe Tech ultimately got the result they hoped for last Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Worcester Tech 9-8. Winning may never get old, but the Broncos sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Danny Secatore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Keefe Tech is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise. Secatore was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Chris Anastos was incredible, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate DeBoer, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Keefe Tech hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Worcester Tech struck out 11 times.
Keefe Tech's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Burncoat, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8.
Everything went Burncoat's way against Keefe Tech in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Burncoat made off with a 9-2 victory. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
