After flying high against the Centerville Bulldogs on Tuesday, the Oakwood Panthers came back down to earth. Oakwood fell just short of Pollok Central by a score of 45-43.
Defeat or not, Oakwood got some senior leadership from Jacee Youngblood who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds and Rai'Miaya Winston who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Youngblood scored a full 46.5% of Oakwood's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Oakwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Pollok Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Oakwood is on the road again on Thursday and play against Chester at 3:30 p.m. on November 30th. Hopefully Chester focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Pollok Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Elkhart at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
