Saint Ignatius College Prep is 0-10 against Brother Rice since April of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Wolfpack will host the Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Saint Ignatius College Prep turned things around against Chicago University on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Maroons a 10-0 shutout. The Wolfpack not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 18-8).

Sebastian Cuadros was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Saint Ignatius College Prep is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-9 otherwise. Cuadros was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Ethan Conway looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Ben Marasovich was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Joseph Toney, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Brother Rice entered their tilt with Evergreen Park on Friday with 16 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 17. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Mustangs. The two-run effort marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Brother Rice pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Saint Ignatius College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Saint Ignatius College Prep might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Brother Rice in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Wolfpack avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
