Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Saraland Spartans, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 31-28. Saraland's defeat signaled the end of their 20-game winning streak dating back to last season.
Saraland's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Ryan Williams and KJ Lacey. Williams gained 232 total yards and three touchdowns, while Lacey threw for 391 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.8% of his passes. Williams' longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards.
Saraland's loss dropped their record down to 14-1. As for Clay-Chalkville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
Saraland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clay-Chalkville also has no future games currently scheduled.
