Sacred Heart extended the longest winning streak in D2 District 1 (8 Man) this week by beating Deshler, 80-6. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Sacred Heart took down the Dragons 80-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Lewiston's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Nouzovsky threw for 50 and one touchdown and Austin Schmutz had 69 yards receiving. On the ground Connor Barr chipped in 66 yards. Lyle Kwiatkowski helped Lewiston's passing attack out by catching one ball for 13 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Austin Vitosh and Ely Hroch Diller-Odell has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Vitosh leads the league in passing with 466 yards, while Hroch has rushed for 858 yards this season. The Tigers' Schmutz leads the league in receiving yards with 423 on 16 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Doug Goltz's team takes on the Griffin. At the moment, the Irish are in first, while Diller-Odell is in third.
Sterling made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 282 from 345. The improvement came about via a 46-6 victory over Chris Schluter's team last week.
