Brianna Hudson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Annah Carr was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Karson Tate, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Wayne County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-18-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Vancleave, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-17.
