Washington hasn't had much luck against Independence recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Washington will welcome Independence at 3:45 p.m. Washington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Washington beat Cortez 7-4. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly three runs.

Dustin Lugo was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Alpista, who scored a run and stole a base.

Meanwhile, Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Copper Canyon.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-1. As for Washington, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
