Bell has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Bell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Monday.
Bell suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were beaten by Newberry 73-36. While losing is never fun, Bell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 494th, while Newberry is ranked 190th).
Bell's loss came about despite a quality game from Maddie Smith, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Saint Francis Catholic strolled past Union County with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 52-37.
Bell has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Bell came up short against Saint Francis Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 30-18. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Saint Francis Catholic's Allie Dey, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds. Now that Bell knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
