Honeoye Falls-Lima has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Monroe Red Jackets at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Honeoye Falls-Lima's game was all tied up 13-13 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 26-20 W over Batavia.
Matthew Meacham was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Meanwhile, Monroe put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Wayne onto the board and left with a 42-0 win. The result was nothing new for Monroe, who have now won eight games by 40 points or more so far this season.
Monroe can attribute much of their success to Khaya Moses, who threw for 179 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and Tajmir Mullins, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Moses is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played. Robert Arnold was in the mix as well, providing Monroe with two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Monroe's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Nahum Perry-Huggins and Arnold who racked up four sacks between them.
Honeoye Falls-Lima pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.4 points per game. As for Monroe, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday's game as Honeoye Falls-Lima and Monroe haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Honeoye Falls-Lima commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Monroe struggles in that department as they've been even better at 7.5 per game.
