The Wayne Badgers waltzed into their matchup Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 56-44 victory over Manila. This was payback for Wayne, who suffered a 50-27 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wayne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Lee, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ryker Peterson , who scored 13 points.
When it comes to explaining why Manila lost, one person who can't be blamed is Riley Browning. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. The matchup was Browning's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Teague Goodman was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Wayne's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Manila, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tabiona at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Manila will be home for the holidays to greet North Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Summit is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
