Midlothian has gone 9-1 against Clover Hill recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Midlothian is taking a road trip to face off against Clover Hill at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Midlothian's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Powhatan. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
Marlee Gaskell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Gaskell wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bella Moussa, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Clover Hill made easy work of Monacan on Tuesday and carried off a 17-7 win.
Like Midlothian, Clover Hill also got a great game from a two-way player: Brianna Miller. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Miller was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cayla Wright was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Kristyn Niles was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Clover Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .381 that Monacan posted.
Midlothian pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Clover Hill, their record now sits at an identical 2-0.
Midlothian took their win against Clover Hill in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-3. Does Midlothian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clover Hill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
