Volleyball Recap: Hesperia Has No Trouble Against Apple Valley

Hesperia had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Apple Valley on Monday. The Scorpions blew past the Sun Devils 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Scorpions in their matchups with the Sun Devils: they've now won nine in a row.

Hesperia walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 25-18.

Hesperia found their leader in sophomore Dylanna Akwaboah, who had 29 assists and seven digs. Akwaboah has been hot, having posted 29 or more assists the last eight times she's played. Emily Ventroni was another key player, getting five digs and four aces.

Hesperia was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in seven consecutive matches.

Apple Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was ABIGAIL NICKLASON, who had ten digs.

Hesperia's win bumped their record up to 24-1. As for Apple Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.
