The Hampton Christian Academy Warriors stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past StoneBridge 65-45. Given Hampton Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while StoneBridge is ranked 276th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sean O'Connor was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. Another player making a difference was Khristian Peebles, who scored ten points along with five assists.
Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Thompson, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Maye, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Hampton Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 14-3. As for StoneBridge, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Hampton Christian Academy and Atlantic Shores Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for StoneBridge, they will head out on the road to square off against Portsmouth Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Portsmouth Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
