Even though The South Hills Huskies scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, the Glendora Tartans still came out on top. Glendora snuck past South Hills with a 38-34 win. Given Glendora's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 174th, while South Hills is ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glendora's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eric Najarro, who threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Timothy Johnson was another key contributor, picking up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, South Hills still got an impressive performance from Matthew Moreno, who rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 113 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Danny Resendiz, who rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
The victory makes it two in a row for Glendora and bumps their season record up to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points per game. As for South Hills, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.
Glendora does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Hills also has no future games currently scheduled.
