Volleyball Recap: Briggs Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Briggs, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Independence 76ers on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the 76ers: they've now won three in a row.

Briggs never let Independence on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 26-24, 25-14.

Alex Xayavong paced Briggs' offense, picking up seven kills. Xayavong got some help from Daniel Cung and his 13 assists. Hayden Krull controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Briggs' victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Briggs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Centennial on the 2nd. Independence has also already played their next match (against West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
