Toll Gate took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against East Greenwich, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Titans had just enough and edged out the Avengers 7-6 on Monday. This was payback for the Titans, who suffered an 8-1 loss the last time these two teams met.
Delaney Wilson made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Wilson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Liv Cota was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Abbi O'Connor, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
