The Bishop Brossart Mustangs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against Roger Bacon by a score of 36-28. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Bishop Brossart has scored all year.
Roger Bacon's loss came despite strong showings from Gussie Hoffman and Gabby Ernst. Hoffman scored nine points, while Ernst scored six points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Bishop Brossart's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Roger Bacon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Brossart's road trip will continue as they head out to face Nicholas County at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. As for Roger Bacon, they will square off against Norwood at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
