Baker won the last time they faced Pensacola Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. Baker put the hurt on Pensacola Christian Academy with a sharp 16-4 win. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Joel Morse was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Baker's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kase Armstrong, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Straight, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Baker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Baker and bumps their season record up to 9-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Pensacola Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker will take on Destin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Baker is facing Destin at the right time seeing as Destin is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pensacola Christian Academy, they will challenge Central Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give Pensacola Christian Academy their first taste of in-conference action this season.
