Baseball Recap: East Webster Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

East Webster entered their tilt with French Camp Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Lawson Quinn made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Quinn was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, East Webster got a massive performance out of Stetson Perkins, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Perkins has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Annon Boykin also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

East Webster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as French Camp Academy only posted an OBP of .393.

East Webster's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for French Camp Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-8 record.

Looking ahead, East Webster will challenge Booneville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for French Camp Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against Leake County on the 17th.
