The Triad Cardinals will be home for the holidays to greet the Mechanicsburg Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Triad had to suffer through a rough 80-42 loss at the hands of Fairbanks. While losing is never fun, Triad can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 530th, while Fairbanks is ranked 254th).
Mechanicsburg can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-29 win over West Jefferson. That looming 45-29 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Mechanicsburg yet this season.
Mechanicsburg found their leader in underclassman Joshua Titus, who scored 16 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Titus scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Chris Ritchie, who scored six points.
Triad's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Mechanicsburg, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4.
Triad strolled past Mechanicsburg when the teams last played back in January by a score of 60-42. Will Triad repeat their success, or does Mechanicsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
