Lowcountry Leadership has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Cross Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Lowcountry Leadership suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 last Tuesday. They were dealt a 67-22 defeat at the hands of Baptist Hill. Lowcountry Leadership was down 48-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Cross' good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a serious blow against Military Magnet Academy, falling 93-37. Cross has not had much luck with Military Magnet Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Lauren Middleton, who scored 21 points. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Cross struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Military Magnet Academy racked up 17 assists.
Lowcountry Leadership dropped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Cross, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.
Lowcountry Leadership was taken down by Cross 57-13 in their previous matchup on January 3rd. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lowcountry Leadership was down 28-5.
