This season hasn't been kind to the King Abdullah Academy Falcons, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a serious blow against Hedgesville on Tuesday, falling 69-13. King Abdullah Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-5.
Leading Hedgesville to victory were Maggie Boyer and Gracie Brown. Boyer scored 19 points along with four steals, while Brown dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Hedgesville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Yates, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
King Abdullah Academy bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hedgesville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
King Abdullah Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Evergreen Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Hedgesville will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Berkeley Springs at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th.
