Poly is 4-0 against the Bayhawks since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Poly Engineers will head out on the road to take on the Benjamin Franklin Bayhawks at 5:00 p.m. One thing working in Poly's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups.
On Wednesday, Poly faced the Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Poly fell to the Eagles 60-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The losing side was boosted by Mickelle Lowry, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of C. Mills, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak last Thursday. They took a 45-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coppin Academy.
Poly's loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-1. As for Benjamin Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Everything came up roses for Poly against the Bayhawks when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 77-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poly since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
