Basketball Game Preview: West Chargers vs. Highland Park Scots

West and Highland Park are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The West Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Highland Park Scots at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

West will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Lawrence, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. West snuck past Lawrence with a 58-53 victory on Saturday.

West's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Imani McGlory, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. McGlory has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydney VanDyke, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 boards.

West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Highland Park took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 58-11 win over Washington. The Scots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Highland Park and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for West, their record is now 3-9.

West was able to grind out a solid win over Highland Park in their previous meeting on Thursday, winning 52-45. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Highland Park's Pearmella Carter, who posted 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.
