Basketball Game Preview: Hilton Head Prep Dolphins vs. St. John's Christian Academy Cavaliers

The Hilton Head Prep Dolphins will take on the St. John's Christian Academy Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hilton Head Prep has five straight wins, St. John's Christian Academy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Hilton Head Prep against Colleton Prep Academy as the team secured a 76-26 victory. The Dolphins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Hilton Head Prep had a senior duo take command as Brendan Moore dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds and Ty Harpring went 10 for 15 on his way to 26 points and seven boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. Luke Eanes was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Hilton Head Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, St. John's Christian Academy came up short against Dorchester Academy on Wednesday and fell 71-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (56), the Cavaliers still had to take the loss.

Hilton Head Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for St. John's Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Everything came up roses for Hilton Head Prep against St. John's Christian Academy when the teams last played on Saturday, as the squad secured an 81-34 win.
