Madolyn Traywick was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing eight innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Traywick was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Izzy Warrick was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Peri Lane Holley, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Saint James pushed their record up to 37-6 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Alabama Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 16-16.
Saint James beat Alabama Christian Academy 5-0 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
