While Umatilla didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-10-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Irrigon Knights on Saturday as they made off with a 6-1 win. The result was nothing new for Umatilla, who have now won five matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Irrigon from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Elaina Jewett led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Umatilla is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-0-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those five contests. As for Irrigon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Umatilla will face off against rival Stanfield/Echo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Irrigon is set to take on their familiar foe Riverside at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
